Avoch and Killen Community Council lays plans for Black Isle hustings ahead of Highland Council election

A BLACK Isle community council is hatching plans to host a hustings ahead of the forthcoming Highland Council election.

Candidates have until next Wednesday to throw their hats in the ring for the May 5 election to the local authority.

The full list of those standing will be published after the deadline has passed.

Avoch and Killen Community Council says it is in the process of trying to arrange a hustings for the peninsula for the upcoming election.

It said: "The Highland Council will publish the candidate information at the end of this month but we would like to contact candidates before then.

"If you or someone you know is standing as a candidate in the upcoming elections and would like to be part of the hustings please email avochandkillencommunitycouncil@gmail.com with your name, email address and contact number."

The date of the hustings is still to be arranged.
