After last-minute Covid safety restrictions meant 2020’s Woodzstock music festival did not go ahead, co-organiser Charlie Stewart described last Saturday’s return as “miraculous”.

The third music festival at the Wildwoodz paintballing site near Tore – later than its usual June date – was lucky falling on a perfect summer’s day.

Afterwards, Charlie – who with her partner Dave Elliott organises the one-day event – said: “This one was two years in the making and I can’t believe it’s over! It was wonderful, it stayed dry and everyone had a great time.”

The original 250 capacity was extended and 100 more were added, of which 60 were children.

Charlie said: “We’ve decided to cap it at 60 for next year to keep it child-friendly without it becoming a children’s festival.”

Tickets for next year’s festival will go on sale on Friday for June 18.

But making the most of the darker skies of August, Charlie and Dave lit up the trees behind the stage.

“It made it atmospheric for Colonel Mustard and Esperanza,” Charlie added.
