Less than perfect conditions failed to put a stop to the latest outing for one of Tain’s most popular outdoor events.

The town played host to its latest Vintage Car Rally on Sunday, with petrolheads able to enjoy a close up view of literally dozens of cars, vans and tractors from years gone by.

Wet and windy weather gave organisers an extra element to deal with at the Links, but everyone was nevertheless delighted with how it all went in the end.

“It is an event that is many months in the making, including a mass of administration to huge amounts of heavy ground work, catering, entertainment, volunteers for gates etc

“We appreciate every bit of support we receive in the build up to the event and on the day. It was great to see all the crafters who came along and joined us too - it was not easy for them, especially those outside battling the elements.

“And of course, a huge thank you to the public, who also braved the elements to come along to the Vintage Car Rally to support the competitors, making all the organising worthwhile!”

It is now full steam ahead for the Tain Gala, taking place from Thursday to Saturday (June 27-29) next week.
