PICTURES: Innis Mhor stars take a bow at Tain's answer to Oscar

The red carpet was rolled out at an Easter Ross care home as residents celebrated the movies with their own mock Oscars ceremony.

It was a case of ‘lights, camera, action’ at Innis Mhor in Tain – renamed Inniswood for the occasion - as residents assumed the role of Oscar winning actors to claim a series of top showbiz prizes. Later, residents took to the dance floor and also sang some of their favourite songs.

There was a double celebration for one resident, Gordon Mackay, named Best Actor. The leading man also celebrated his 95th birthday at the weekend.

Jackie Macrae, manager at Innis Mhor care home, said: “Everyone loves a trip to the movies so we thought we'd bring a touch of ‘tinseltown’ to Tain with our very own Oscars ceremony. It was the residents' idea to celebrate Hollywood and it gave us all a chance to dress up for the special occasion. We may be far removed from LA, but we know how to throw a showbiz party at Innis Mhor!”
