PUPILS across Ross-shire have enjoyed a day of dressing-up fun and activities to raise money for a household name charity.

The schools celebrated this year’s Red Nose Day with a variety of fundraisers organised across the region for Comic Relief’s work to support people living in poverty.

Pupils from Dingwall Primary had a Dress as a Hero theme.

In a year like no other, the definition of hero has been expanded beyond the big screen and comic book norm and that was reflected by pupils who paid their own tribute to frontline key workers, including NHS staff and police.

Senior pupils from Invergordon Academy in Easter Ross designed their very own superhero masks for a competition, among various other pay-to-play contests, and raised a total of £500 via gofundme page donations, money collected and through the school donating money for every activity the pupils completed on the day.

Many of the primary pupils have only recently returned to school full-time, while seniors are making a phased return.
