Black Isle Gathering pictures from ‘buzzing’ 2024 event in Fortrose
AN event bringing together the Black Isle community has been hailed a roaring success.
A wide variety of groups showcased goods and services available on the peninsula at the Black Isle Gathering.
It was hosted by the Black Isle Leisure Centre on Saturday.
There was special praise for young army cadets for being “unfailingly helpful” throughout the day.
There was also a chance to ride on trishaws run for community benefit and make juice from excess apples.
Around 300 people browsed 40 stalls and enjoyed live tunes by Fèis the Music.
One of the main organisers, Jenny Brogden, hailed “a great turnout” and said community spirit was at the core of the event.
She said: “I think the thing about the Black Isle is that of course, everybody knows everybody - but they come and have a chat, and there is a really nice buzz to it, and that’s really important.
“It’s not about making money but about bringing people together.”
Reacting to praise for the army cadets, Fortrose detachment commander Flora Thomson posted: “It was an honour for the detachmentto be asked to help out again this year and we thank you all for all your encouraging words of praise for such a young bunch of cadets that we have currently.
“All these comments help them with their confidence interacting with the public. These are very much appreciated by us all.”
