Residents at an Easter Ross care home have been letting their hair down in lockdown – by getting tattoos.

Staff at Innis Mhor threw a lockdown party for the fun-loving residents at the Tain home, with drinks and chocolate fondue.

Activities coordinator Angi Williams also set up a mobile tattoo parlour and did a roaring trade as residents flocked to get inked.

Among them were WW2 veteran Gordon Mackay and Donald McCulloch, who chose a wolf tattoo in tribute to a surgeon at Raigmore Hospital, Bernhard Wolf, who saved his life.

Cat lover Joan Davis and former pub landlady Eileen Brice also joined in the fun.

Jackie Macrae, manager at Innis Mhor said: "The residents at Innis Mhor will try anything once and they loved getting inked up. Fortunately, these are only temporary tattoos, otherwise we’d never be able to look their family members in the face once visits resume!”

The care home managed to stage its own music festival and Highland games events during the lockdown as well as its own take on the Oscars.

Amongst residents' favourite activities to date was a Nerf gun session where they were armed with blasters to take pot shots at staff, who took it all in the line of duty.
