PICTURES: Business picks up as deals are done at Highland Spotlight
BUSINESS showcase Highland Spotlight scored another success as it looked set to reach new records.
One of the flagship events of the seventh Highland Business Week, the business-to-business exhibition at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness featured more than 65 exhibitors. This included a wide range of businesses, charities and other organisations.
The north’s biggest football clubs, Ross County and Inverness Caledonian Thistle, also had a presence with players and management chatting to some of the hundreds of visitors to the free event.
Regular attendee, solicitor Sarah Lilley from Innes & Mackay, said: “It’s been a busy year, and probably busier than I have ever seen it.”
First time visitor to Highland Spotlight, Janis Wilby from charity Adopt-A-Child, felt it had been well worth attending the event.
“It’s really good to be a part of it,” she said.
“We are a child support agency. Most support comes from individuals, but we are also offering businesses the opportunity to support children and we have had quite a number of discussions with businesses here.”
Stewart Nicol, chief executive of event organiser Inverness Chamber of Commerce, said a number of exhibitors had also suggested the event was busier than ever, but he had yet to check the figures for confirmation.
“We’ve had a lot of positive feedback from exhibitors about the number of visitors and the quality and range of businesses,” he said.
“I’ve had a number of people saying that they have been doing lots of deals, which is what it is all about.”
