FOODIES enjoyed a day of tasty samples from some of the best producers in the Highlands last weekend.

The SPP Highland Food and Drink Festival took to the stage at Eden Court on Saturday, with around 40 exhibitors showcasing their products.

Sponsored by The Cairngorm Group and celebrating producers from all over the region the festival had treats to suit every palate, from meats and other savouries to locally-produced gin and chocolate.

Festival organiser Lyndsey Kelman, from SPP, said: “The festival was a great success with a very busy footfall, and many of the lovely exhibitors sold out their stock completely – gin companies, chocolatiers, coffee, tea, meats, cheeses, cakes. People must have been stocking up for the festive period as the spend was very high.

“The Chef’s Live Theatre demos were very impressive too. It is great to showcase the fabulous produce and skill we have right on our doorstep.”

The youngest participants could indulge in cupcake decoration in the Kids’ Zone with courses run by Oakwood Cookery School from Elgin.
