AN Easter Ross outdoor market proved its worth at the weekend with many traders selling out of stock and locals flocking to show their support.

Invergordon Development Trust masterminded the Natal Gardens event on Saturday, the latest in a series of open-air markets which have helped the town lead a fightback against coronavirus.

The pandemic has hit many Ross-shire businesses hard with Invergordon suffering the major blow of the cruise line season for the year being effectively wiped out as a result of Covid-related precautions.

The IDT said later: "A huge thank you to everyone who visited the market and once again showed just how amazing our little town can be. Our traders brought along lots of extra stock and still sold out! You are all wonderful and the reason we do it. We are beyond proud that our markets have been a success in these crazy times – the support from people in Invergordon and surrounding areas has been fantastic!"

Many showed their appreciation via social media. Diane Semple wrote: "Another great market day, well done to everyone involved."

Catriona Gunn simply wrote: "Love market day."
