Staff reveal celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall visited Highland cafe and enjoyed lunch in the social enterprise business

A HIGHLAND café was delighted to serve up lunch to a celebrity chef and broadcaster.

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall visited Café Artysans on Saturday and enjoyed lunch in the social enterprise business on Strothers Lane, Inverness.

Mr Fearnley-Whittingstall is a multi-award-winning writer and broadcaster known for his uncompromising commitment to seasonal, ethically produced food and his concern for the environment.

He has earned a huge following through his River Cottage TV series and books, as well as campaigns such as Hugh’s Fish Fight, Hugh’s War on Waste and his latest, Britain’s Fat Fight and, his latest, War on Plastic with Hugh and Anita.

On social media, a post on Café Artysans Facebook page said: "Last week we had the pleasure of having Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall visit the café!

"Thank you very much for visiting Café Artysans!"

A spokeswoman for Café Artysans added: "The team said Mr Fearnley-Whittingstall was really lovely."

Café Artysans is a social enterprise that works with young people to help them discover their future career.

It was recently awarded Trip Advisors Travellers Choice Award for 2021.
