The picture appears on the letters page in the Ross-shire Journal under the heading: 'Ross-shire through the Lens'.

With such a large and starkly contrasting area to choose from, amateur snappers are seldom stuck for choice when trying to figure out where to point their cameras.

And we love seeing the results.

From landmarks such as the monument on Fyrish Hill to the oil platforms in the Cromarty Firth it overlooks and the stunning beauty of Wester Ross, the variety is endless.

Lockdown offers an opportunity to capture something close to home.

Or perhaps your own bird-watching antics have yielded some great images? Maybe you have looked at a local landmark through fresh eyes? Or your beloved pet dog has provided the perfect foreground to a stunning backdrop.

There's no reason why people can't feature in the shots too.
