PATIENTS could have been forgiven for feeling a little anxious ahead of a Covid-19 vaccination jag.

But many arriving at a clinic today did so with smiles on their faces...

A couple of quirky characters turned grimaces into grins ahead of the drive-through clinic.

The Croyard Road Medical Practice, which includes patients from Muir of Ord and Beauly, made use of the Braeview car park for its latest clinic.

GP Dr Ross Jaffrey said it was a "fantastic start to our second dose Pfizer drive-through clinic" and thanked everyone who helped it to run smoothly.

They included British Red Cross volunteers, Beauly Shinty Club and Highland Council for use of car park – "or should I say Jurassic Park.... People went to great lengths to prove they were in the over-80 cohort!"

He posted: "Big smiles all round to start off the morning. We have a great community!"

All remaining eligible patients over 50, or in an at risk group, will be sent letters with appointment details for a clinic at the end of March.

The practice has urged people to continue abiding by coronavirus restrictions even after vaccination.

Feedback from today's clinic was good.

"Well done vaccination team!" posted one.

Another said: "Nice to see it as fun time also. Well done."

Others were encouraged by good news about their dose. One said: "Had a text this morning bringing my second vaccine forward by two weeks to March 27. Delighted."

And another said: "A brilliant team ,well done – and well done the dinosaurs bringing a smile bringing a smile to our faces this morning."
