AN annual event commemorating the service of men and women in the British Armed Forces has been marked in Dingwall this week.
Armed Forces Week gives individuals and organisations the opportunity to celebrate the work of our Armed Forces, veterans and reservists, and the sacrifices they and their families make for the country.
A raising the flag ceremony at the council offices in Dingwall on Monday welcomed guests from Dingwall and Invergordon British Legions, local councillors and representatives from Poppyscotland and Help for Heroes.

Robert Bain, deputy Lord Lieutenant was accompanied by the Rev Julia Boothby and Lord Lieutenant’s cadet, Corporal Kai Greig at the flagpole. Corporal Greig prepared the flag which was then dedicated by Rev Julia Boothby.
In a poignant ceremony, piper Ruaraidh Drennan played as the flag was raised.
