With something for everyone, it provides a base for a farm shop, florist and café inside, while there are lots of activities in the grounds of the farm itself, including a chance to meet the animals.

Dalmore Farm is owned by local councillor Carolyn Wilson and daughters Katie Christie and Jennie Wilson.

It received planning permission last October, and sees the relocation of a range of family businesses formerly resident in Alness High Street.

Mrs Wilson said: “It is a huge investment for us as a family and we are committed to making this a high-quality environment for people to come and visit.

“Hopefully it will attract people into the area.

“We have been overwhelmed with the positive comments we have received from the local community and customers – it is very reassuring we have got so much enthusiastic support.”

The owners held a small gathering on Sunday ahead of the official opening to thanks friends, family and contractors for their support and to look round the premises.

Cromarty Firth councillor Maxine Morley-Smith was among those who attended.

She took to social media afterwards to say: “Great play area for young children and the petting farm. Great shops inside and luxurious café. Can’t wait to go for a Sunday roast, often!”
