Dingwall Mod 2024 picture flashback to Gaelic culture showcase
A VIBRANT Dingwall event has played its part in helping keep Gaelic language and culture alive with a showcase that allowed a new generation of young people to shine.
The Dingwall Mod, hosted by the local primary school at the weekend, saw competitors from as far afield as Oban put through their paces in a variety of disciplines.

One of the organisers, Marie-Claire Dunbar, said afterwards: “It was a very successful day, I am very proud of what we have achieved.
“Keeping the Gaelic language alive through music, poetry, storytelling, playing music instruments and art is very important and magical.
“We had over a 150 competitors from different places: Inverness, Ullapool, Dingwall, Conon Bridge, Rockfield, Tain and even some of them coming from Oban and Kilmarnock for this special day.”
And speaking as a parent, she said: “Also having both my children singing their hearts out to the music, wearing their little costumes, was very emotional. I am very proud!”
Meur Inbhir Pheofharain said afterwards: “What talent was heard and seen.
“Well done to everyone who took part in our Mòd. It was great to have you and we thank everyone for their support.
“Here’s to next year - but in the meantime a huge congratulations to our young people.”
