Dingwall to Strathpeffer Peffery Way path marks another milestone as fresh work starts

WORK is set to start on another section of an off-road path that will link two major Ross-shire communities.
The Peffery Way will connect Dingwall and Strathpeffer, creating an all-ability walking and cycling route which it’s hoped will increase active travel opportunities for commuters and recreational users.
Completed sections of the route, being created in stages as and when funding permits, have been well used in recent months and being hailed a lockdown lifeline by some.
The Peffery Way Association said it was delighted to announce that work will be starting in the next few days on another 360m section at Blairninich, running eastwards from the rebuilt bridge.
Contractors will be moving machines and materials along the path from the sewage works access, “so there will be quite a bit of activity at times”.
It said it will still be possible to use the path but appealed to users to take extra care when passing areas where work is taking place.
The group posted: “Please make sure you have been seen by the operator before approaching any machines and please follow their signals and any guidance they give about how and when to pass.”
The latest development has been warmly welcomed: “Brilliant. Thanks so much to you all for providing this great facility,” posted Stan Williamson.
Angela Maclean stated: “Excellent news what great work you volunteers are doing. So many people have enjoyed walking the route throughout lockdown.”
