AN overturned gas lorry has sparked the closure of a key Sutherland road.

The A838 Lairg to Laxford Bridge road has been closed between the Dalchork junction and Laxford Bridge following the crash, Highland Council has confirmed.

Local access is being maintained from Lairg to Achfary, but the road was otherwise impassable at the time of writing.
