Scary A9 overtaking incident prompts public appeal from police

POLICE in the Highlands have issued an appeal to the public following a close miss involving a car transporter and a tractor on the A9 during an overtaking incident.

The appeal follows an incident on the trunk road near Kingussie on Sunday.

A statement issued today said: "Around 12.40pm on Sunday, April 7, a northbound fully-laden car transporter overtook a car towing a caravan causing an oncoming tractor to take evasive action by leaving the carriageway onto the verge.

"Officers are appealing to anyone with information to come forward, including the driver of the tractor."
