An Oor Wullie decked out in the colours of Ross County Football Club sold for £4200 at auction.

It was part of a group of 50 individually designed versions of the iconic Scottish comic character that formed the Oor Wullie Big Bucket Trail across Scotland over the summer and were auctioned off in Thainstone in Aberdeenshire last night.

In aid of the Archie Foundation – which is the official charity of the Highland Children's Unit at Raigmore Hospital – the auction raised a total of £316,700.

The Ross County Oor Wullie, which had its home in North Kessock, narrowly bested its rival in Inverness Caley Thistle colours which sold on the night for £4000.
