On-call firefighter recruitment drive centres on Ross-shire town's of Invergordon and Fortrose

WOULD-BE firefighters are being invited to step up to the challenge as two Ross-shire stations seek to recruit on-call support.

The appeal from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service relates to anyone over the age of 18 who lives or works close to either Invergordon Fire Station or Fortrose Fire Station.

It said: "Do you want to learn new skills, broaden your horizons and protect your community We're recruiting on-call Firefighters from all walks of life, types of employment and backgrounds.

"Age is not a barrier – as long as you can pass the national tests."

On-call firefighters are paid a monthly wage for their commitment, with additional payment for all work and additional activities undertaken.
