The Scottish Crofting Federation is inviting nominations for its Young Crofter Award 2022.

The award, which was won last year by Elphin crofter Helen O'Keefe, celebrates the achievements of younger people in crofting - it is open to all crofters aged 40 and under.

Elphin crofter Helen O'Keefe is a previous winner of the Young Crofter Award.

Judges are looking for inspiring young folk who are crofting in a sustainable way, using traditional or new ways of working and who play an active part in their crofting community.

The winner will receive the Euan Macrae Young Crofter Quaich as well as a cash prize of £500 and a year's federation membership.

Nominations can be made by filling out a form available on the Scottish Crofting Federation website and returning it by post to the address given or by email.

Crofters can nominate themselves and nominees may be contacted to take part in a short chat with the judging panel.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, September 30.
