There were no new coronavirus cases across the Highlands and Islands on Monday, as the cumulative total for the NHS Highland area remained at 5178.

The Western Isles, Orkney and Shetland also registered no new cases, while the national figure saw 161 new cases of Covid-19 in the latest 24-hour period.

That equated to 1.6 per cent of tests taken.

No new deaths were recorded of people with a recent positive test of Covid-19. Three people were in intensive care yesterday with the virus, while 68 people were in hospital with recently confirmed coronavirus.

NHS Grampian today had 15 new cases of Covid-19, as the outbreak in Moray appears to be getting back under control, while NHS Tayside had eight new cases.

A total of 3,035,790 people have now received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 1,638,536 have received their second dose.
