NHS Highland area registers 19 new coronavirus cases

A further 19 new cases of Covid-19 were registered across the NHS Highland area in the past 24 hours, according to the latest data from Public Health Scotland.

It brings the region's total number of cases to 1410.

Across Scotland, 788 new cases were recorded on Saturday and 44 people who had received a positive test died.

There were 77 people in intensive care across the country – down three from Friday – and 1077 people in hospital – down 22 from yesterday – with recently confirmed Covid-19.

There were no freshly reported cases of the virus in the Western Isles, Orkney or Shetland but NHS Grampian registered 50 new cases on Saturday.
