Man, 59, killed in Glasgow crash named

A man who died in a single-vehicle crash in Glasgow has been named by police.

Nigel Barclay, 59, died on Wednesday when his green Vauxhall Insignia crashed on Carntyne Road.

The incident occurred at around 12.35pm and Mr Barclay, from Easterhouse, was declared dead at the scene.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans of Police Scotland said: “Our thoughts are with Nigel’s family and we are providing support to them as our inquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of this crash.

“We would appeal to anyone who was driving on Carntyne Road, Glasgow, around the time of crash, who either witnessed it take place or who has any information that may assist.

“Any driver with dashcam footage is asked to please contact us as soon as possible.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1607 of December 4.”
