Multiple A835 sections to undergo roadworks in March

MULTIPLE sections of the A835 is set to undergo road works next month.

The A835, which links Ullapool to the Black Isle and Inverness, will be undergoing resurfacing works between Loch Glascarnoch and Loch Droma.

This project starts on March 3 with work taking place between 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday. Works are expected to be completed by March 24.

• Start: 7am March 10

• End: 7pm March 14

A835 north of Loch Droma

• Start: 7am March 17

• End: 7pm March 24

To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the public, a 10mph convoy system will be in place during working hours. The A835 will be reopened outwith working hours with a 30mph speed restriction in place as traffic will be traveling over a temporary road surface. No works will take place on Saturdays or Sundays.

Access through works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times on all sites.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s north-west representative, said: “These projects on the A835 will help address defects and greatly improve the area for motorists.

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”

Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
