Muir of Ord’s Bad Girl Bakery and Bakhoos Bakery in Fortrose featured by La Liste Pastry Awards

Muir of Ord’s Bad Girl Bakery and Bakhoos Bakery in Fortrose have been awarded a spot in a prestigious list of the best pastry shops in the world.

La Liste has revealed their top rankings for the Pastry Awards 2024, which recognises the best hotels and eateries across the globe.

The guide notes 3000 pastry providers, considered by La Liste to be the best of the best globally, with 24 Scottish businesses featuring.

Included in the prestigious list was Bakhoos Bakery on the Black Isle, which specialises in sourdough, Viennoiserie, cakes and coffee. The Fortrose bakery renovated a former police station on the High Street in 2021, to create the local shop.

Muir of Ord couple, Douglas Hardie and Jeni Iannetta, have expanded Bad Girl Bakery from a cafe in their native Ross-shire village to also include a major outlet at Inverness’ Victorian Market.

Inverness’ Victorian Market shared their congratulations for Bad Girl Bakery, stating: “Shout out to our lovely pals at Bad Girl Bakery for making it on La Liste 2024! They have been named as one of the top bakeries in UK, and we couldn’t agree more!”
