Mouse in the house leads to Highland restaurant closing while pest control get to work

A HIGHLAND eatery has closed after a mouse was spotted on the premises.
The uninvited guest appeared in Brewers Fayre Inshes Gate which caters for guests at the Premier Inn next door as well as the general public.
And it is thought that the colder weather may have driven the pest inside from nearby fields across the A9.
A spokeswoman for the owners, brewing giant Whitbread, confirmed the closure happened on Tuesday and that the restaurant would remain closed until pest control experts had finished their work.
She said: “At this time of year the weather turns colder, which causes the occasional mouse to seek sanctuary indoors – an issue we occasionally experience in common with other businesses and households.
"As would rightly be expected, we have stringent standards and a zero tolerance policy on the matter and this confirmed sighting led to the restaurant promptly closing on Tuesday.
"Independent experts are already on the case and the site will receive verification from them that the issue is resolved before it will be reopened – hopefully within the next couple of days.”
A spokesperson for Highland Council's Environmental Health Team said: "Environmental health was not aware of this concern. Given the report, officers have followed up with the businesses to ensure appropriate action is being taken."
