A MOTORIST was fined £740 and banned from driving for two years after speeding on the A9 on the Black Isle.

Andrew Kieltyka, of Lochalsh Court, Inverness was stopped by police after speeding along at 94mph on dual carriageway at Arpafeelie last night (Thursday).

Fiscal depute Martina Eastwood told Inverness Sheriff Court that a breath test was carried out and Kieltyka was more than twice the legal limit, with a reading of 52mcgs of alcohol when the permitted amount is 22mcgs.

It was also discovered that the 40-year-old had no insurance and was outwith his bail curfew hours. Kieltyka admitted speeding, driving with excess alcohol, no insurance and a breach of bail.
