Motorcyclist taken to hospital following two-vehicle collision between a BMW car and Kawasaki motorcycle on A96

A motorcyclist was injured and had to be taken to hospital after he was involved in a collision on the A96 between Nairn and Forres.

The alarm was raised at 12.35pm following the accident near to Wester Hardmuir Farm.

It is understood that the injuries were not life-threatening and the driver of the other vehicle was unhurt as a result of the collision.

A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed that the two vehicles involved were a BMW car and the Kawasaki motorcycle.

The A96 was partially blocked in both directions but it was fully reopened by 3.15pm.
