Motorcyclist airlifted to Glasgow hospital following A87 crash
A motorcyclist has been taken to Glasgow hospital via air ambulance following A87 crash in Wester Ross.
The Shiel Bridge closed this morning (July 17), after a road traffic accident, which is said to have caused long tailbacks. The road is now open, as of 3pm.
It has now been reported that a male motorcyclist has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
Police Scotland said: “The A87 has reopened east of Shiel Bridge following a crash which was reported around 10.15am on Wednesday, 17 July, 2024.
“The male rider of the motorcycle has been taken by air ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
“There are no other reported injuries. Enquiries remain ongoing. Motorists are thanked for their patience during the closure.”
