A COMMUNITY food group in Ross-shire is set to benefit from a regular contribution from a local retailer.

MOO Food runs a community fridge project in Muir of Ord along with a number of other schemes aimed at encouraging community resilience and self-sufficiency.

It said it will now be getting a regular contribution to the community fridge from Lidl in Dingwall.

That will be picked up and delivered to the fridge by volunteers. The food that is being donated would otherwise go to waste as it is just on its best before date.

The group paid tribute to Milton Primary School for helping to organise it and to volunteers that have offered to help.

MOO Food has its own Facebook page.
