A FAMOUS ultra athlete keen to tick off a dip in Loch Ness from his bucket list got more than he bargained for when he encountered not one but two monsters...and neither of them was Nessie.

Josh Llewellyn-Jones was born with cystic fibrosis and given a 10 per cent chance of surviving his first night due to complications. Now 32, he’s a world record holder, ultra athlete and international motivational speaker.

He took to his social media channel today to reveal how he had jumped at the chance to take a dip in Loch Ness while attending a training camp.

In the world-famous loch, he encountered too other world-renowned athletes who wax lyrical about the beneficial effects of taking a dip in icy waters.

Tom and Luke Stoltman, who hail from Invergordon in Easter Ross, can claim to be the world's strongest brothers and have racked up a string of achievements as individual competitors.

Posting pictures in the loch and back on dry land, Mr Llewellyn-Jones said: "Today I got to tick something off the bucket list... a dip in Lochness and yes, I found two monsters not just one.

"So I’ve arrived at training camp and this was just before breakfast this morning. If I didn’t have small man syndrome before, I definitely have it now. The World's strongest brothers."

Amongst many odds-defying challenges, Mr Llewellyn-Jones completed the World's Fittest Man Challenge.

In 2018, he became the first man to lift 1,000,000kg in under 24 hours to raise awareness for cystic fibrosis.
