A missing Inverness man whose disappearance early on Monday sparked “significant concern” for his welfare, has been traced.

Police Scotland confirmed they had found Kenneth McKelvie (68) in an update shortly after 12.30pm.

He had been reported missing from the Leachkin area of the city after disappearing at around 6.30am on Monday.

Confirming he has been found, a police spokesperson said: “We can confirm 68-year-old Kenneth McKelvie who was reported missing from Inverness has been traced.

“Thank you to everyone that shared our post.”
