Man taken to hospital after Cromarty Firth rescue by Invergordon RNLI lifeboat crew

A MAN was taken to hospital for checks after being plucked from the Cromarty Firth.
Invergordon RNLI's lifeboat crew were paged at 9.03am yesterday morning after an alert from the UK Coastguard Aberdeen Operations room.
It requested the launch of the Invergordon lifeboat to reports of a person in the water in the Cromarty Firth.
The volunteer crew assembled and Shannon class lifeboat RNLI Agnes AP Barr RNLI 13-37 left harbour to meet with the tug vessel working nearby.
Arriving on scene within two minutes of leaving the harbour, the casualty was recovered to the workboat with assistance from work colleagues.
Two volunteer crew went on board assessed the man. Despite no injuries, he was taken onto the lifeboat and transported to the West Harbour berth to the waiting Scottish Ambulance Crew before being taken to hospital for further checks.
The lifeboat was released from service and washed down, refuelled, cleaned to Covid-19 guidelines and made ready for service shortly after 10.15am.
