Clifford Walklett made no plea to a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour.

The 51-year-old was remanded in custody after being committed for further examination.

He is due to reappear at Inverness Sheriff Court within the next eight days.

His appearance yesterday followed a police operation at an address in Anderson Court, Merkinch on Saturday where officers said a 51-year-old man had been charged "in relation to possession of explosive substances."
