Man dies following fatal road crash on A9 at the Munlochy junction for the B9161 in Ross-shire

Police Scotland have confirmed that an 88-year-old man has died following a fatal two-car crash on the A9 near Inverness last month.

The incident happened around 4.20pm on Friday, November 19, at the Munlochy junction for the B9161 and A9 and involved a white Nissan Pixo and a red Volvo V60.

An 88-year-old man, who was a passenger in the white Nissan, was injured in the crash and died on Saturday.

The driver of the white Nissan, an 86-year-old woman, was taken to Raigmore Hospital where she died.

Sergeant Neil MacDonald, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased.

“The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this time.”
