A MAN has died while out in the mountains of Glen Affric.

The man, who has not been named, took ill while out in upper reaches of the glen on Saturday.

Police, members of Kintail Mountain Rescue Team, and Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance – based near Perth – were all called to the scene on Saturday morning.

A police spokesman said: "Officers were called to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service and mountain rescue partners to a man who had taken unwell near to Glen Affric on Saturday, April, 10.

"An air ambulance attended and the 61-year-old man was taken to hospital. He was pronounced dead. His death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
