A9 crash: Man arrested and another in hospital with ‘serious’ injuries’ after two-car collision in Sutherland between Golspie and Brora

A man has been arrested following a crash on the A9 south of Brora that left a person in hospital with serious injuries.

The busy trunk road was closed at around 6.10pm on Thursday following a two-car collision on a section of the road between Brora and Golspie at Doll.

Emergency crews attended the scene and one man was taken to hospital with "serious injuries".

A police spokesperson said: "Emergency services attended and one man was taken to hospital for treatment to what are described as serious injuries.

"A male driver, aged 32 was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and enquiries are ongoing."

The road was closed and re-opened around 9.35pm.

During the closure traffic was diverted via Lairg and Altnaharra.
