Easter Ross’ long-vacant former S&B Allsorts business site in Tain town centre has new owner, announces Highland estate agency ASG Commercial
A prominent former household goods store and newsagents in the heart of Tain has been sold.
Estate agency ASG Commercial has announced the successful sale of the long vacant former S&B Allsorts store at 33/37 High Street.
The site, which was also once the site of the Home & Music Emporium, was put back on the market in February of this year for offers in the region of £115,000.
At the time, ASG Commercial said the property was back on the market because "it is the seller's desire to focus on a new project".
The property, which is located in a B-listed 19th century building, also includes a two-bedroom flat upstairs - as well as additional attic and storage space. Although the flat is currently accessed through the shop, planning consents are already in place which would enable the owner to modify the flat's access so it can be entered directly from the outside, should they wish.
It is not known what the property sold for, who the buyer is, or their intention for the site.
But the fact there has been movement on a prominent, long vacant building in the very heart of the town is likely to be welcomed by locals and the business community.
Announcing the sale over the weekend, ASG Commercial said it was “thrilled” that the property had found a new owner.
“A huge congratulations to the new owners as they begin their new chapter with this commercial property and our heartfelt thanks to the sellers for letting ASG Commercial handle the sale,” said a spokesperson.
