Police name local man who died in A832 road accident between Poolewe and Gairloch in Wester Ross

Police have named the local man who died in a road accident in Wester Ross.

The accident on the A832 between Gairloch and Poolewe happened on Friday at around 1.50pm in the Crofters Brae area.

Allan Logie Marshall from Poolewe died from injuries sustained in the accident.

The 75-year-old was sadly pronounced dead at the scene following the one-vehicle collision.

Sergeant Alasdair Mackay from Dingwall’s Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with the friends and family of Allan at this difficult time.

“Our investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this tragic incident and we would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and either saw the incident take place, or who was on the A832 and may have relevant dashcam footage which might help our enquiries to please come forward.”

Mr Marshall had been driving a white VW Golf,

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 1976 of 6 November.
