EMERGENCY repairs will force the closure of an Easter Ross railway level crossing later this month.

The Nigg level crossing on the B9175 will be closed for emergency works overnight on Saturday, February 27 into Sunday, February 28.

Highland Council said the closure it to enable Network Rail Scotland to replace a damaged section of track caused by "the recent adverse weather conditions".

The closure will run from 10pm on February 27 to 10am on February 28. There will be no access for emergency vehicles or pedestrians through the closed section of road, but a signed diversion route will be in place.
