Dingwall Leisure Centre hits 50 - and you’re all invited to the party!
A ROSS-SHIRE leisure centre is taking a step back in time to celebrate its 50th birthday in 1970s style - and everyone’s invited!
Flares and platforms will be the order of the day at Dingwall Leisure Centre next weekend with plans including a ‘70s-style roller disco, an old-fashioned military boot camp circuits session and the chance for one lucky fitness fan to win a 50-year membership.
The weekend of November 22 – 24 marks the golden anniversary of the facility, which has been at the centre of the community since it was built in 1974.

Operator High Life Highland wants to encourage as many people as possible – members and non-members – to come along and take part in a variety of fun activities or try something new, with all the activities including classes and swimming free to all over the weekend.
Ian Goode, leisure manager at Dingwall Leisure Centre, said: “We are hoping lots of people will come along on our anniversary weekend and help us to celebrate this milestone.
“Look out for some of our staff who will be dressed 70’s style and we hope our customers also take the opportunity to go vintage this weekend too!”
Dingwall Leisure Centre has a swimming pool, sports hall, gym and is a community sports hub.
