Lecturers cancel further strike action amid new talks over pay

Lecturers have placed plans for another strike next week on hold as they get back round the table with employers to discuss a pay increase.

The EIS -FELA union - which includes members at the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) - made the announcement today just hours after picketing sites around Scotland.

Among those protesting were lecturers at UHI Inverness.
