Latest Covid update sees NHS Highland pass 3000 cases

More than 3000 coronavirus cases have been detected across the NHS Highland area since the pandemic began.
The figure was passed as the latest daily case rates were announced on Sunday, with the health board area seeing 68 new confirmed cases in the last 24 hours.
It takes the tally for the area to 3028.
Neighbouring NHS Grampian saw a further 187 new cases, as 1877 positive tests were returned across Scotland – 10 per cent of those tested.
Three new reported deaths of people who have tested positive within the last 28 days were also recorded in Scotland, though register offices are generally closed at weekends.
Hospital figures show that 1598 people are currently being treated for Covid-19, with 123 people in intensive care.
NHS Highland's seven-day rate per 100,000 population is 175, compared the the national average of 286.3. The World Health Organisation considers a figure below 50 to suggest that the virus is under control.
In the islands, Shetland saw three new Covid cases, while Orkney and the Western Isles reported no further increase.
