ScotRail said: "Following an obstruction on the track earlier today between Stromeferry and Attadale all lines have now reopened.Train services between Inverness and Kyle Of Lochalsh are returning to normal but some services may still be delayed."

It said: "Our staff have worked hard to clear the obstruction, and the line has now re-opened.The following service alterations will apply until further notice."

The 12.08pm from Kyle to Inverness started from Strathcarron and was running 62 minutes late.

No one was injured in the incident.

The road was also closed while police and firefighters recovered the vehicle.
