A CONFERENCE to raise awareness on wildfires will be organised in a Wester Ross village.

The event called Wildfires — Learning From Experience, is organised by Highland Environment Forum and Highland Environmental Network and will be hosted at Kinlochewe Village Hall on March 6.

The session comes to address the issue of wildfires across the Highlands which cause habitat destruction each year, whilst releasing large quantities of CO2 into the air and reduce soil fertility.

The conference will look at past experience and good management practice with the aim of preventing out of control burning.

The programme will be a mix of presentations, practical information and workshops.

More information will be available on the official Facebook event www.facebook.com/events/521235851812946/ and on wildfireconference.eventbrite.com
