Five groups from Elegance Dance Company (EDC) in Dingwall went to the ICE Sub Zero competition at the weekend, where they earned three 2nd place trophies, one 3rd place and one 4th place.

The teams, aged 6-15, performed a variety of dances from hip hop to contemporary.

Meghan Kerr, owner of EDC, was delighted for her students who train with her twice a week.

Out of the 25 dancers, only eight had performed at a competition before so it was exciting for everyone.

She said: "It just means the world to me. They've put their heart and soul into the classes.

"They are there every week giving it 110 percent. Seeing them on that floor, they were so excited and everybody was in tears the whole weekend. For a small town group, the dancers did amazingly against some bigger competitors.

"It was just an amazing weekend."

Ms Kerr continued to train the girls in lockdown over zoom, but is delighted they are back on the competition circuit and is planning more competitions from September onwards.
