Invergordon traffic congestion after three-vehicle A9 smash





AN A9 accident in Easter Ross resulted in heavy localised congestion this afternoon.

At least one person had to be treated by paramedics after the accident closed the route at around 3.18pm at Achnagarron between Alness and Invergordon.

The three-vehicle crash involved a car, van and crane. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it had sent two appliances to the scene, one from Invergordon and another from Dingwall.

They added that there was at least one injured person who was being treated by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Traffic caught up in the wake of the incident resulted in significant congestion in Invergordon - which had earlier in the day been the scene of a heavy police presence after a reported early-hours assault.

Traffic Scotland reported at 4.54pm that the road was open fully again.
