PLANS are already being made for the next Invergordon Town Market after the first last week was hailed a hit, despite the dreich day.

Organiser Marie Clarke, chairwoman of Invergordon Development Trust said there had been a fantastic turnout for Thursday's event at the town's Natal Garden.

She said: "Thank you to all our helpers who came to help us early hours on such a wet day, our friendly traders for the beautiful produce and crafts on display and Rory Robson, Davy and Sam Cowan for entertaining us all.

"It was just lovely to see so many local faces alongside our visitors from the cruise ship in port today."

The next market will take place on Thursday, June 27 at The Natal Garden running from 1pm to 6pm.

This will allow those at work or school to also come along and check out what it has to offer.

A number of well-wishers took to the group's Facebook page to show support. Holly Cook stated: "Well done to all involved. It was great to see Invergordon busy. Looking forward to the next one."

Nicola Mitchell wrote: "Gutted I missed it today due to work but looking forward to the next one. Well done to all that were involved in bring life back to a Invergordon."

Karen Mackay said: "Thank you so much from Invergordon Academy Rock Challenge. You invited us to raise funds and we raised well over £100 for the finals in Dundee."
